Canadian doctors and policy makers discuss myths and reality of single payer

“S o what about those long lines for basic medical services? And those government bureaucrats standing bewteen you and your doctor? And all those unhappy Canadians flooding the borders to receive medical attention in the ‘best health care system in the world’ (how come which one? the American one!)? And…bla, bla,bla?”
If you’re ever puzzled at these questions, and wondered whether they are representative of the health care system of our Northern neighbors, this video clip addresses these and other myths about Canadian Medicare. Worth its seven minutes and worth passing it on.

It seems to be standard that the people who complain about the Canadian health care system are to be found thru the private clinics that exist, very often in Alberta. Most of these complainers are found in that very private system that has the most to gain financially from building and running private clinics in Canada. Always check the background of the complainer. It will usually lead to a private organization.
