Women’s Global Health and Human Rights just published
Jones and Bartlett Publishers have just announced the publication of Women’s Global Health and Human Rights. This multi-authored book is co-edited by Dr. Padmini Murthy of the School of Public Health at New YorkMedical College and Dr. Clyde (Lanny) Smith, one of the editors of this Portal. Dr. Smith, an internist, is with the Department of Family & Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center.
In their preface Drs. Murthy and Smith write that: “Women in this day and age are denied their fundamental right to enjoy a complete state of heath as defined by the World Health Organization…This book is unique in that it addresses the similarities and differences in health and human rights challenges faced by women in different regions of the world.
