I my Name Is Marvine Dixon a teacher in Jamaica. I have a student in the third form who is suferring from a terrible skin condition which has an odour sometimes, he is scorned by most persons within his environment. He is from a humble background and his mother cannot afforded medical assistance for him. I am appealing to your organization for assistance in getting him well. Upon your response I will talk with him and supply the necessary information. In your reply please send me a telephone number so I can contact you via telephone.

Your response and assistance will be highly appreciated.

As a 3rd year U.S. student enrolled in the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba, I took a year off to wirk with with the Henry Reeve Brigade of Cuban Doctors in Haiti. Their work exemplifies the stunning accomplishments in public health not only in Cuba. Cuban doctors can be found all throughout the world where doctors are needed most. Since we opened for oporation on January 24, 2010, just 12 days after the earthquake, we have seen over 30,000 patients from Croix du Bouquet and the surrounding areas. We are working as a team of Cuban doctors, ELAM graduates and Hatian students studying medicine in Cuba. It is most impressive the pace, grace, efficiency and quality care that this brigrade has provided under such dire circumstances... the true gem of the Cuban Healthcare System and Education lies in the fundamental: health for all, any time, any where necessary, because Healthcare is a Human Right.

Dear Officer Bennett, I would suggest that you contact the local Cuban consulate or Embassy. They should be able to provide you with information on Cuban medical services and opportunities to study medicine in Cuba. This link - http://www.elacm.sld.cu/ - will take you to the website of the Latin American Medical School (ELAM) in Havana. ELAM is where non-Cuban students study medicine on scholarship. Best, Matt Anderson, MD
