Two faculty from the
Drs. Shira Shavit and Lori Kohler will discuss the Correctional Medicine Consultation Network (CMCN), a statewide program of the Department in collaboration with the Division of Correctional Health Care Services of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). The CMCN is a ground-breaking effort that works to enrich the work environment for correctional medical staff, to enhance the quality of medical care in
Dr. Shavit is the Associate Director of the CMCN and serves as a consultant for San Quentin State Prison. She has had extensive experience in the areas of correctional medicine, refugee health, and reproductive health. Dr. Lori Kohler, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine University of California,
